Balloon And Dirigible Exports

Exports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2023, overseas shipments of balloons, dirigibles and other non-powered aircraft increased by X% to X units, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, exports recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, balloon and dirigible exports shrank slightly to $X in 2023. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2022, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Brazil was the key exporting country with an export of around X units, which finished at X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Venezuela (X units) and Argentina (X units), together creating a X% share of total exports. Colombia (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Brazil was also the fastest-growing in terms of the balloons, dirigibles and other non-powered aircraft exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Venezuela (X%), Argentina (X%) and Colombia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Brazil (X p.p.) and Venezuela (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Argentina and Colombia saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.

Imports in Latin America and the Caribbean

In 2023, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of balloons, dirigibles and other non-powered aircraft, when their volume decreased by X% to X units. In general, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Chile (X p.p.), Guyana (X p.p.), Brazil (X p.p.), Guatemala (X p.p.) and Ecuador (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
