Exports from Kenya

In 2022, approx. X tons of granite blocks and slabs were exported from Kenya; jumping by 46% against the year before. In general, exports posted a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 2,100% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, granite block exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 317%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 574% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, granite block imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 726% against the previous year.
