In value terms, cabbage exports stood at $X in 2018. Over the period under review, cabbage exports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, cabbage exports reached their peak of $X. From 2015 to 2018, the growth of cabbage exports failed to regain its momentum.

Somalia (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes) and Uganda (X tonnes) were the main destinations of cabbage exports from Kenya, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, the average export prices for cabbage and other brassicas reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was France ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Uganda ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
