Maize Oil Market Size in Kazakhstan

In 2019, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Kazakh maize oil market, when its value decreased by -X% to $X. Overall, consumption continues to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when the market value increased by X% year-to-year. Maize oil consumption peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2019, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, maize oil imports declined notably to $X in 2019. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2019, Russia (X tonnes) was the main maize oil supplier to Kazakhstan, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, maize oil imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tonnes), more than tenfold.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume from Russia totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+X% per year) and Azerbaijan (+X% per year).

In value terms, Russia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of maize oil to Kazakhstan, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Turkey ($X), with a X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Russia totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+X% per year) and Azerbaijan (+X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2019, the average maize oil import price amounted to $X per tonne, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2019, the growth in terms of the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per tonne), while the price for Russia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Azerbaijan, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
