Kyrgyzstan (X tons) was the main destination for lemon and lime exports from Kazakhstan, accounting for a 82% share of total exports. Moreover, lemon and lime exports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Uzbekistan (X tons), tenfold. Russia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Kyrgyzstan totaled +120.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+27.0% per year) and Russia (+73.5% per year).
In value terms, Kyrgyzstan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for lemon and lime exports from Kazakhstan, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tajikistan ($X), with a 25% share of total exports. It was followed by Uzbekistan, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Kyrgyzstan amounted to +132.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tajikistan (0.0% per year) and Uzbekistan (+31.4% per year).

In 2021, the average lemon and lime export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 58% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible descent. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Overall, total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Uzbekistan ($X per ton), while the price for Tajikistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
