Brassiere exports from Kazakhstan fell markedly to X units in 2021, waning by -53.5% compared with the year before. Overall, exports, however, saw a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 315% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, brassiere exports shrank significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a mild expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 230%. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
Russia (X units) was the main destination for brassiere exports from Kazakhstan, with a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, brassiere exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X units), threefold. Germany (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Russia stood at +2.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (-5.5% per year) and Germany (+140.0% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated exports from Kazakhstan, comprising 66% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 9.8% share of total exports. It was followed by Georgia, with a 4.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia amounted to +5.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+88.3% per year) and Georgia (+30.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average brassiere export price amounted to $X per unit, declining by -19.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 72%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+19.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Brassiere Imports
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest brassiere supplier to Kazakhstan, with a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, brassiere imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Russia (X units), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Belarus (X units), with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +28.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+51.6% per year) and Belarus (+29.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of brassieres of textile materials, whether or not elasticated to Kazakhstan, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belarus ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Russia, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled +19.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (+14.5% per year) and Russia (+35.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average brassiere import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 43%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
