Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, styrene-acrylonitrile exports contracted to $X in 2020. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

China (X tonnes) was the main destination for styrene-acrylonitrile exports from Japan, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, styrene-acrylonitrile exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Thailand (X tonnes), with a X% share.
