Russia (X units) was the main destination for wood slicing machine exports from Japan, with a 88% share of total exports. Moreover, wood slicing machine exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), more than tenfold. China (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 5.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia stood at +120.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+3.2% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.4% per year).

In 2021, the average wood slicing machine export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 23% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 82%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year.
