Pork Market Size in Italy

The Italian pork market was estimated at $X in 2020, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, consumption saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, exports reached the peak of X tonnes. from 2017 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pork exports rose sharply to $X in 2020. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

China (X tonnes) was the main destination for pork exports from Italy, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, pork exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), twofold. Japan (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to China amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year) and Japan (+X% per year).
