Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pasta and couscous exports declined remarkably to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, showed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The U.S. (X tonnes), Australia (X tonnes) and the UK (X tonnes) were the main destinations of pasta and couscous exports from Israel, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, the Netherlands, France and Belgium, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Netherlands (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X), Australia ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the largest markets for pasta and couscous exported from Israel worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2020, the highest prices were recorded for prices to France ($X per tonne) and Italy ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) and Belgium ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the U.S., while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Pasta And Couscous Imports

Imports into Israel

Pasta and couscous imports into Israel skyrocketed to X tonnes in 2020, with an increase of X% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, pasta and couscous imports surged to $X in 2020. Overall, imports showed a prominent expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Turkey (X tonnes), Thailand (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of pasta and couscous imports to Israel, together accounting for X% of total imports. These countries were followed by China, Morocco, Viet Nam and Singapore, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Viet Nam, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest pasta and couscous suppliers to Israel were Thailand ($X), Italy ($X) and China ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Viet Nam ($X per tonne), while the price for Turkey ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
