The third position in this ranking was occupied by Malta (X tonnes), with a X% share.

In 2018, the average milled rice export price amounted to $X per tonne, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2018, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. In that year, the average export prices for semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for semi-milled or wholly milled (bleached) rice remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uganda, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, milled rice imports continue to indicate prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2018 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, milled rice imports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, the total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2007 to 2018: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, milled rice imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per tonne), while the price for Spain ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
