Dental Fitting Exports

Exports from Ireland

For the fifth year in a row, Ireland recorded decline in shipments abroad of dental fittings, which decreased by 0% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 161% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dental fitting exports stood at $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 184%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Poland (X kg), the UK (X kg) and Italy (X kg) were the main destinations of dental fitting exports from Ireland, together comprising 42% of total exports.

For the fifth year in a row, Ireland recorded decline in overseas purchases of dental fittings, which decreased by 0% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dental fitting imports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 33%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The United States (X tons), the UK (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of dental fitting imports to Ireland, with a combined 86% share of total imports. Switzerland and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.9%.
