Over the period under review, chipped coniferous wood imports reached their peak figure at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, chipped coniferous wood imports totaled $X in 2018. Over the period under review, chipped coniferous wood imports, however, continue to indicate an abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

In 2018, the UK (X tonnes) constituted the largest chipped coniferous wood supplier to Ireland, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, chipped coniferous wood imports from the UK exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X tonnes), threefold.
