Strawberry Market Size in Iran

For the third year in a row, the Iranian strawberry market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -X% to $X in 2019. Overall, consumption showed a noticeable expansion. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2019, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, strawberry exports shrank dramatically to $X in 2019. Overall, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The smallest decline of -X% was in 2014. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2019, exports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), Russia (X tonnes) and Armenia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of strawberry exports from Iran, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Armenia (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for strawberry exported from Iran were Armenia ($X), Russia ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

In 2019, supplies from abroad of strawberries increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the sixth year in a row after four years of decline. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2019, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, strawberry imports rose sharply to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, imports saw a significant expansion.
