Rice Market Size in Iran

In 2022, the Iranian rice market was finally on the rise to reach $X after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable reduction. Exports from Iran

In 2022, rice exports from Iran soared to X tons, rising by X% against 2021 figures. Overall, exports recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, rice exports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for rice exports from Iran, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, rice exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X tons), ninefold. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
