Pumpkin Market Size in Iran

Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, pumpkin exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, posted a measured increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates (X tonnes) was the main destination for pumpkin exports from Iran, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, pumpkin exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Qatar (X tonnes), twofold. Iraq (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United Arab Emirates totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Qatar (+X% per year) and Iraq (-X% per year).

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Russia ($X) and Qatar ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for pumpkin exported from Iran worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Qatar saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average pumpkin export price amounted to $X per tonne, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of X% y-o-y. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
