Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, woolen yarn exports soared to $X in 2020. Overall, exports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Australia (X tonnes) was the main destination for woolen yarn exports from Indonesia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, woolen yarn exports to Australia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), fourfold.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Australia totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year) and New Zealand (-X% per year).

In value terms, woolen yarn imports dropped sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports continue to indicate a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In 2020, China (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of woolen yarn to Indonesia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, woolen yarn imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Korea (X tonnes), sixfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Italy (X tonnes), with a X% share.
