Jordan (X tons) was the main destination for peanut butter exports from Indonesia, with a 25% share of total exports. Moreover, peanut butter exports to Jordan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Israel (X tons), twofold. In value terms, Jordan ($X) remains the key foreign market for peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts exports from Indonesia, comprising 27% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 9.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Jordan stood at +4.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (-0.5% per year) and the United States (+5.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average peanut butter export price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 10%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 199% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, peanut butter imports declined slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a modest increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 125% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of peanut butter to Indonesia, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, peanut butter imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X tons), sevenfold. India (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +8.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (-16.4% per year) and India (+148.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts to Indonesia, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 5.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +9.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (-10.6% per year) and Singapore (-11.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average peanut butter import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 45% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, peanut butter import price increased by +98.9% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
