Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 101%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X tons), Israel (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports to Indonesia, together accounting for 55% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +25.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest bromides, iodides and oxids thereof suppliers to Indonesia were Thailand ($X), India ($X) and Israel ($X), together accounting for 59% of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Israel, with a CAGR of +26.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average import price for bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides amounted to $X per ton, growing by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
