As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons) and Nepal (X tons) were the main destinations of uncoated kraft liner exports from India, with a combined 69% share of total exports. Saudi Arabia, China, Sri Lanka and Djibouti lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +557.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for uncoated kraft liner exported from India were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Bangladesh ($X) and Saudi Arabia ($X), with a combined 69% share of total exports. China, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Djibouti lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, China, with a CAGR of +577.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average uncoated kraft liner export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 50% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Sri Lanka ($X per ton) and Djibouti ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Nepal ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of uncoated kraft liner, when their volume decreased by -20.2% to X tons. In general, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 31%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, uncoated kraft liner imports amounted to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +7.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The United States (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main suppliers of uncoated kraft liner imports to India, with a combined 60% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Russia, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Germany and Singapore, which together accounted for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Canada (with a CAGR of +35.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest uncoated kraft liner suppliers to India were the United States ($X), Poland ($X) and Sweden ($X), together accounting for 60% of total imports. These countries were followed by Russia, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Singapore and Germany, which together accounted for a further 33%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Canada, with a CAGR of +37.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average uncoated kraft liner import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Finland ($X per ton) and Russia ($X per ton), while the price for Canada ($X per ton) and Australia ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
