Titanium Market Size in India

In 2020, the Indian titanium market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the third consecutive year after three years of growth. Overall, consumption recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the market value increased by X% year-to-year. Titanium consumption peaked at $X in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2020, consumption failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, titanium exports contracted notably to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The UK (X tonnes) was the main destination for titanium exports from India, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, titanium exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the U.S. (X kg), sevenfold.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the UK totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the U.S. (+X% per year) and Colombia (X% per year).

In value terms, the UK ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for titanium exports from India, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the U.S. ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the UK totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the U.S. (+X% per year) and Colombia (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average titanium export price amounted to $X per tonne, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was the U.S. ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Colombia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Titanium Imports

Imports into India

In 2020, approx. X tonnes of titanium were imported into India; surging by X% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, titanium imports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports showed mild growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

China (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes) and Ukraine (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of titanium imports to India, together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in the Netherlands (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest titanium suppliers to India were China ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Ukraine ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, the Netherlands (+X% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the average titanium import price amounted to $X per tonne, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the highest prices were recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($X per tonne) and China ($X per tonne), while the price for Russia ($X per tonne) and Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
