Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The Netherlands (X tonnes), Bangladesh (X tonnes) and Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of pyrites exports from India, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Thailand, South Korea, Turkey and the Philippines, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Thailand (with a CAGR of +X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Thailand ($X) were the largest markets for pyrites exported from India worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Thailand, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average pyrites export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) and Saudi Arabia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per tonne) and Bangladesh ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pyrites Imports
Imports into India
For the sixth consecutive year, India recorded growth in overseas purchases of pyrites, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pyrites imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Turkey (X tonnes), Croatia (X tonnes) and Russia (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of pyrites imports to India, together accounting for X% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest pyrites suppliers to India were Turkey ($X), Croatia ($X) and Russia ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.
