Canned Mushroom Market Size in India

After eight years of growth, the Indian canned mushroom market decreased by -X% to $X in 2020. In general, consumption, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when the market value increased by X% year-to-year. Canned mushroom consumption peaked at $X in 2019, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

Overall, exports recorded a significant contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, canned mushroom exports reduced dramatically to $X in 2020. In general, exports recorded a dramatic slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes) was the main destination for canned mushroom exports from India, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, canned mushroom exports to Hong Kong SAR exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the U.S. (X tonnes), threefold.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Hong Kong SAR was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the U.S. (-X% per year) and Thailand (-X% per year).

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Canned mushroom imports into India contracted rapidly to X tonnes in 2020, with a decrease of -X% on 2019. Overall, imports recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, canned mushroom imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
