Luggage Market Size in India

In 2020, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Indian luggage market, when its value decreased by -X% to $X. In general, consumption continues to indicate a moderate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In value terms, luggage exports contracted rapidly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a notable expansion. Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and the U.S. (X units) were the main destinations of luggage exports from India, with a combined X% share of total exports. The UK, France, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Japan, Malaysia, Canada and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Malaysia, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X) were the largest markets for luggage exported from India worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Canada, Malaysia and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X the main countries of destination, Malaysia saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average luggage export price amounted to $X per unit, declining by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2019, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
