Man-Made Filament Fabric Exports

Exports from Hungary

In 2022, overseas shipments of woven fabrics of man-made filaments and staple fibers decreased by X% to X square meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X square meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, man-made filament fabric exports dropped dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X square meters), the UK (X square meters) and the Netherlands (X square meters) were the main destinations of man-made filament fabric exports from Hungary, together comprising X% of total exports. Belgium, Romania, France, Libya, Ukraine, Serbia, Denmark, Egypt, Italy and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Serbia (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X square meters in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, man-made filament fabric imports declined slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X square meters), Pakistan (X square meters) and Germany (X square meters) were the main suppliers of man-made filament fabric imports to Hungary, with a combined X% share of total imports.
