Exports from Hungary

After three years of growth, overseas shipments of spices decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, spice exports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded buoyant growth. Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for spice exports from Hungary, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, spice exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovakia (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Romania (X tons), with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (X% per year) and Romania (X% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
