Exports from Hungary
In 2022, overseas shipments of sorghum decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sorghum exports reduced to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main destinations of sorghum exports from Hungary, with a combined X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of sorghum decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sorghum imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a measured expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ukraine (X tons), France (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of sorghum imports to Hungary, with a combined X% share of total imports. Argentina, India, Slovakia, Germany and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
