Recovered Fibre Pulp Exports

Exports from Hungary

In 2022, overseas shipments of recovered fibre pulp were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, recovered fibre pulp exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Serbia (X tons) was the main destination for recovered fibre pulp exports from Hungary, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, recovered fibre pulp exports to Serbia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Croatia (X tons), fivefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Serbia was relatively modest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, recovered fibre pulp imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Germany (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Croatia (X tons) were the main suppliers of recovered fibre pulp imports to Hungary, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
