Exports from Hungary

In 2022, overseas shipments of manuka decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the fifth consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, manuka exports declined remarkably to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Japan (X tons) were the main destinations of manuka exports from Hungary, with a combined X% share of total exports. France, Austria, Spain and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
