In value terms, frozen whole chicken exports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Belgium (X tons) was the main destination for frozen whole chicken exports from Hungary, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, frozen whole chicken exports to Belgium exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Slovakia (X tons), threefold. Ukraine (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an X% share.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined sharply in the following year.

In value terms, frozen whole chicken imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Slovakia (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of frozen whole chicken imports to Hungary, together accounting for X% of total imports.
