Exports from Hungary

In 2021, the amount of frozen potatoes prepared or preserved exported from Hungary soared to X tons, jumping by 147% against 2020. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, preserved frozen potato exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a resilient increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Romania (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved frozen potato exports from Hungary, together comprising 81% of total exports. Croatia, Bulgaria and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +89.2% against 2012 indices.
