Fishing rod exports from Hungary fell notably to X units in 2020, declining by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fishing rod exports declined slightly to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Romania (X units) was the main destination for fishing rod exports from Hungary, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, fishing rod exports to Romania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Serbia (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Romania amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+X% per year) and Serbia (-X% per year).

In value terms, Romania ($X) remains the key foreign market for fishing rod exports from Hungary, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Slovakia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Romania stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Slovakia (+X% per year) and Poland (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average fishing rod export price stood at $X per unit in 2020, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of fishing rods and other line fishing tackle, when their volume decreased by -X% to X units. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, fishing rod imports shrank to $X in 2020. In general, imports saw a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, China (X units) constituted the largest fishing rod supplier to Hungary, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, fishing rod imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Serbia (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and Serbia (+X% per year).
