Exports from Hungary
In 2022, shipments abroad of fibreboard decreased by X% to X cubic meters, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X cubic meters. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, fibreboard exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.
Exports by Country
Italy (X cubic meters), Romania (X cubic meters) and Germany (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of fibreboard exports from Hungary, together comprising X% of total exports. Slovakia, Serbia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, South Africa, Bulgaria, Croatia and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Austria ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Africa (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Fibreboard imports into Hungary surged to X cubic meters in 2022, growing by X% against 2021 figures. In general, imports posted a buoyant increase.
