In value terms, exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ukraine (X tonnes) was the main destination for exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers from Hungary, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers to Ukraine exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Macedonia (X tonnes), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Romania (X tonnes), with a X% share.

In general, imports recorded prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, imports of carnallite, sylvite and other crude natural potassium salts, potassium magnesium sulphate and mixtures of potassic fertilisers surged to $X in 2020. Overall, imports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2020 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
