From 2013 to 2018, the growth of leek exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Bulgaria (X tonnes) was the main destination for leek exports from Greece, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, leek exports to Bulgaria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Romania (X tonnes), fourfold. The Netherlands (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

Overall, leek imports continue to indicate a drastic decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, leek imports reached their maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, leek imports stood at $X in 2018. Over the period under review, leek imports continue to indicate a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, leek imports attained their peak of $X. From 2009 to 2018, the growth of leek imports failed to regain its momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2018, the Netherlands (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of leek to Greece, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, leek imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X tonnes), twofold. Belgium (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
