Kola Nut Market Size in Greece

The revenue of the kola nut market in Greece amounted to $X in 2018, approximately equating the previous year. Exports from Cote d'Ivoire increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018. At the same time, Sudan (+X%) and Jamaica (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sudan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. By contrast, India (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Cote d'Ivoire (+X p.p.), Sudan (+X p.p.) and Jamaica (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2007-2018, the share of India (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) remains the largest kola nut supplier from Greece, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Jamaica ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by India, with a X% share.

In Cote d'Ivoire, kola nut exports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Jamaica (+X% per year) and India (-X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the kola nut export price in Greece amounted to $X per tonne, falling by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the kola nut export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices for kola nuts reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Jamaica ($X per tonne), while Sudan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India, while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Belgium (X tonnes), Chad (X tonnes) and France (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Qatar, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported kola nuts into Greece, comprising X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Nigeria ($X), with a X% share of global imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the U.S. stood at +X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Nigeria (+X% per year) and Belgium (+X% per year).

In 2018, the kola nut import price in Greece amounted to $X per tonne, flattening at the previous year. Overall, the kola nut import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the import prices for kola nuts reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.
