Granite Building Stone Exports

Exports from Greece

After eight years of decline, overseas shipments of granite building stone increased by 21% to X tons in 2021. In general, exports, however, faced a deep reduction. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, granite building stone exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Bulgaria (X tons), China (X tons) and Albania (X tons) were the main destinations of granite building stone exports from Greece, together comprising 55% of total exports. Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Israel and Cyprus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Israel (with a CAGR of +92.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
