In value terms, Cyprus ($X) remains the key foreign market for chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) exports from Greece, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Denmark ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 4.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Cyprus totaled +42.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (-13.4% per year) and Egypt (+1.4% per year).

In 2021, the average chlorides export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 26% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 41%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 97%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 108%. Bulgaria (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the main suppliers of chlorides imports to Greece, together accounting for 63% of total imports. Romania, China, Belgium, Russia, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
