The average yield of avocados in Ghana stood at X tons per ha in 2022, remaining constant against 2021. Over the period under review, the yield, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Exports from Ghana

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of avocados, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, avocado exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for avocado exports from Ghana, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, avocado exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X tons), threefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany stood at X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (X% per year) and Burkina Faso (X% per year).
