Crude Palm Oil Market Size in Germany

For the third consecutive year, the German crude palm oil market recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -X% to $X in 2019. Overall, consumption saw a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 when the market value increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the market reached the peak level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Denmark (X tonnes) was the main destination for crude palm oil exports from Germany, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, crude palm oil exports to Denmark exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tonnes), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Austria (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Denmark amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (-X% per year) and Austria (+X% per year).

The average crude palm oil export price stood at $X per tonne in 2019, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2019, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
