In 2023, overseas shipments of frozen fish and seafood decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the fifth consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports showed a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, frozen fish and seafood exports fell to $X in 2023. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for frozen fish and seafood exports from Germany, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, frozen fish and seafood exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X tons), with a X% share.
