The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last nine years. The Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Russia, the UK and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +25.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, brassiere imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of brassiere to Germany, with a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, brassiere imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bangladesh (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Indonesia (X units), with a 6.2% share.
