In value terms, articles of fiber cement exports contracted modestly to $X in 2020. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

France (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes) and the UK (X tonnes) were the main destinations of articles of fiber cement exports from Germany, together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, Australia and Russia, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Russia, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of articles of asbestos-cement, cellulose fiber-cement or the like decreased by -X% to X tonnes in 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tonnes in 2019, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, articles of fiber cement imports fell to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a strong expansion.
