China was the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which accounted for 39% of total exports. China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the syringes, with or without needles exports, with a CAGR of +13.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, France (+12.2%), Italy (+5.9%), Switzerland (+5.9%) and the United States (+3.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-2.6%), Mexico (-3.3%), Belgium (-4.4%), Ireland (-6.1%), South Korea (-7.1%) and the Philippines (-19.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+21 p.p.) and France (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Korea (-1.7 p.p.), Ireland (-2.4 p.p.), Mexico (-2.9 p.p.), Spain (-3.6 p.p.), the Philippines (-5.4 p.p.), Germany (-5.5 p.p.) and Belgium (-5.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest syringe supplying countries from X were China ($X), the United States ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for 43% of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Mexico, Spain, Ireland, the Philippines and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 36%.
Italy, with a CAGR of +15.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in X stood at less than $X per thousand units in 2021, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per thousand units), while China ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+17.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, Bolivia (X units), distantly followed by the United States (X units), Germany (X units), France (X units) and Belgium (X units) represented the largest importers of syringes, with or without needles, together generating 47% of total imports. Italy (X units), the UK (X units), Brazil (X units), Russia (X units), China (X units), Spain (X units), Denmark (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Bolivia (with a CAGR of +125.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest syringe importing markets into X were the United States ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 37% share of total imports. Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, China, the UK, Spain, Russia, Denmark, Brazil and Bolivia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Denmark, with a CAGR of +12.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in X amounted to less than $X per thousand units, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per thousand units), while Bolivia ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
