In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the GCC pulses market, when its value decreased by X% to $X. The total consumption indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In Saudi Arabia, pulses production expanded at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (X% per year) and Kuwait (X% per year).

In 2022, the average pulses yield in GCC fell significantly to X tons per ha, with a decrease of X% against 2021. In general, the yield showed a drastic downturn. Exports in GCC

For the fourth year in a row, GCC recorded growth in shipments abroad of pulses, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, pulses exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

The shipments of the one major exporters of pulses, namely the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the pulses exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022.
