In 2022, the export price in GCC amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 72% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the export price increased by 190% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while Saudi Arabia stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+12.5%).

Imports in GCC
After two years of decline, overseas purchases of organo-sulphur compounds increased by 1.6% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 54%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, organo-sulphur compound imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) prevails in imports structure, together comprising 81% of total imports. Oman (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Qatar (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 15% share of total imports. Kuwait (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Oman ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 89% share of total imports. Qatar and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9.6%.
Qatar, with a CAGR of +9.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in GCC stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 38%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) and Qatar ($X per ton), while Oman ($X per ton) and Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+2.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
