Spain (X tonnes), Ireland (X tonnes) and the UK (X tonnes) were the main destinations of wheat flour exports from France, together accounting for X% of total exports. Angola, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, French Polynesia, South Korea, Poland, Comoros, China and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in China, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Spain ($X), the UK ($X) and Ireland ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for wheat flour exported from France worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. Belgium, Germany, Angola, the Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, China, French Polynesia, Poland and Comoros lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X the main countries of destination, China recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average wheat flour export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen years, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, export price attained the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Angola ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into France

In 2020, wheat flour imports into France expanded sharply to X tonnes, surging by X% on the previous year. Overall, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Moreover, wheat flour imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tonnes), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Italy (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).
