Tomato Market Size in France

In 2019, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the French tomato market, when its value decreased by -X% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In value terms, tomato exports stood at $X in 2019. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2019, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Germany (X tonnes) was the main destination for tomato exports from France, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, tomato exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tonnes), twofold. Spain (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany totaled -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (-X% per year) and Spain (+X% per year).
