Malt Market Size in France

The French malt market was estimated at $X in 2020, picking up by X% against the previous year. Belgium (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes) and Brazil (X tonnes) were the main destinations of malt exports from France, with a combined X% share of total exports. Germany, Cameroon, Italy, Japan, Nigeria and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Nigeria, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belgium ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for malt exported from France worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. Imports into France

In 2020, overseas purchases of malt increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, malt imports expanded to $X in 2020. Overall, imports posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Germany (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and Poland (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of malt imports to France, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Poland (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
