In value terms, photographic paper exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 5,935%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Estonia (X square meters) was the main destination for photographic paper exports from Finland, with a 97% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States (X square meters), with a 1.8% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Estonia amounted to -23.4%.
In value terms, Estonia ($X) remains the key foreign market for photographic paper exports from Finland, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 19% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Estonia amounted to -25.7%.

In 2021, the average photographic paper export price amounted to $X per square meter, picking up by 21% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average export price increased by 161%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per square meter. From 2019 to 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per square meter), while the average price for exports to Estonia amounted to $X per square meter.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Finland
For the ninth year in a row, Finland recorded decline in overseas purchases of photographic paper, paperboard and textiles, which decreased by -5.7% to X square meters in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt downturn. The smallest decline of -2.7% was in 2015. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X square meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, photographic paper imports fell to $X in 2021. In general, imports faced a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 0.6%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X square meters) constituted the largest photographic paper supplier to Finland, accounting for a 88% share of total imports. Moreover, photographic paper imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sweden (X square meters), eightfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands stood at -11.5%.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of photographic paper to Finland, comprising 83% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sweden ($X), with a 16% share of total imports.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per square meter), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
